Hearts Of The Chosen

In the current stormy life we have, darkness has fallen over our hearts, rendering us blind when we’re at our peak of need for sight, not being able to take the right step we try to open our eyes and find conciliation through the hazy and vicious surroundings as a last salvation for what we’ve spiraled in from the horrifying chasm of misery to the asphyxiating gasps of sorrow but when all hope is lost and the vultures of desperation start circling a certain rose starts to grow awaiting for our attention, a rose that its own heavenly aroma could purify our very souls from the scorching torture of sin and disorientation this divine rose is called friendship.

.

Friendship is the relation between two persons, linked not by blood nor by interest, but by souls. A bond far stronger than any other and beyond any earthly desires, a bond that might be our rise or the harbinger of our demise. What makes this particular relationship different is that, unlike many other relations, in this relation people act natural and be their selves, by this we eliminate the element of deceit and eliminate lying as well. Furthermore, this relation is considered a stress reliever as both parts of the relationship open their hearts to the other allowing the other person to reach within and nip the wretched tree of agony within from its roots.

.

Since friendship consists of two persons, it is considered a double-edged weapon, one can cut through the pains and hardship of life with it, and with it one can reap his own soul. The balance that friendship makes is one of extreme simplicity, whatever you give, you receive. Love will overwhelm you only if you give love, and the example can be drawn on other sentiments and traits. One of the most devastating traits, humans these days seem to share is treachery. Treason is the worst crime one can commit to another human being. It wasn’t called a stab in the back for nothing, the concept of treason is to use everything that has taken from the core of your friend’s heart and use it against him leading him to the brink of losing all hope in the existence of trust and turning every bit of love and respect to raging ocean of hatred.

.

Stories of loyalty and strong friendship are endless, and I would like to bring to you a couple of them the first one is a story of two friends since childhood, lived through the smiles and tears of life, took the same educational journey in the same school they’ve become brothers in law to each other and even went well into their 70′s as not just any friends, but brothers in soul until one of them fell a victim to sickness so he asked his friend to accompany him in one last travel to make another chapter of smiles in their great book of adventures. As one of them was praying, he knelt and bended over the ground in his prayer and from that he never rose again. Stricken by fear for his friend’s health, he carried his fallen friend and ran to the hospital to face the painful truth of his friend’s departure of this mortal world. On his return to his home land, and inside his room he went to bed, closed his eyes and never opened them again. Those two brothers were awarded by each other in life, and God protected them from separation even by death.

.

Another story comes to mind, a story of a two warriors who were separated by duty for one of them to take his sword and storm the battlefield, while the other was forced to stay at home due to an injury. They say words travel fast, and I say bad news travel even faster, the injured warrior learnt that his soul brother might be injured and he felt that his brother might be in his need, so he asked his lord to allow him to go to the battlefield to look for his soul brother. Although the lord objected at first, he gave him the permission to go on his own responsibility and on that he ventured to his brother. In the presence of grim death, he looked for his soul brother on the battlefield, after he had been guided to his whereabouts. He arrived to find that his soul brother is fighting although he was badly injured and as his eyes fill with tears of joy to witness his soul brother in this time of distress an arrow changes the salty tears to crimson red blood. After that long journey to find his soul brother, his soul shattered at the sight of his only life companion let out his last words in his arms saying: “I was fighting to come back home, to enjoy peace with you my brother, but death has deprived me from that bless”. He said it and let out his last gasps, as his brother lifts him and runs back hoping to save his brother not knowing that the enemy forces have closed on him and by their swords their reaped his life and reunited him with his valiant fallen brother.

.

Diverse and rich are the human relations, yet all save almost the same purpose of perfecting one another to take the journey of life with a smile from our hearts while armed with the company of our most beloved. By God’s blessing we shall fear no evil nor can the hands of harm reach us as long as we have each other. On these troubling times, we need not earthly pursuits but the immortal bond that unites us. Brace yourselves as the great adventure that is life can be full of dangers , arm yourselves not by swords nor by spears only by the strong hearts of your most beloved as nothing can conquer fear but a pure heart by your side.

simply exquisite, you have described friendship like no one has ever had, you make people have faith in humanity, that there is still some hope out there. God bless you brother

The rarest, most precious thing a person can find is true friendship, where you consider the other your soul mate, your other half, your brother (or sister). There is a large distinction between friendship and a connection of the souls. The amount of hurt, pain, deception, disgrace and utter humiliation a person may endure as a consequence of the actions of a ‘friend’ will never occur with a soul mate. The difficulty lies in trying to find that soul mate.

It is important to remember that treason is subjective to a certain extent. For instance, a person telling a harmless joke could be traitorous in their friend’s eyes, while a soul mate accepts any comment in the way it is intended. Hence, what one person may find to be an example of betrayal, another might not.

The question remains: How well can you truly know a person?
Imagine this soul mate to be not only the closest friend you have but also a family member. They are a person you have entrusted with your deepest secrets and given them your heart and mind only to have them throw the friendship, in its entirety, away leaving you in a state of wretched pain where you feel your world has collapsed around you pulling you into a dark abyss that will eventually leave you in utter turmoil and at a loss of faith in humanity. Trust is earned, not simply given. I believe a person should arm him(her)self, especially their heart (a most vulnerable liability), before giving into the dream of finally having a soul brother/sister. Keep in mind it takes time to find the type of friendship in the stories mentioned. It should never be rushed.

First, I’d like to thank you all for you kind compliments, your approval fills my heart with joy :-)
Dear Jazu, I’d like to gladly express my deepest gratitude to you for your lovely debates, and I surely hope that this becomes a habit rather than a onetime gesture. I do agree that there is a great difference between connection of souls and friendship but in order to have a connection of souls we have to undergo the friendship phase. An act of deception coming from a soul mate is far more fatal than that of a friend yet when you are a soul mate you do make certain exceptions for your soul mate as well. Treason is relative, indeed, yet I simply mentioned treason, which is whatever act you classify as treason, I didn’t frame it in one act. As for knowing a certain person, sometimes we spend a life time trying to probe the depths of a person and often we return empty handed yet we are willing to proceed with further studies and expeditions to reach an understanding of that dear person, as I see it, it is always worth the journey. Betrayal is never a harmless act, but to me, losing a traitor is like gaining a friend, in both cases we are the blessed ones, and whoever that traitor was, dear or worthless we might shed a tear or two upon his much beneficial departure yet by time the winds of oblivion shall blow that person away. It is a life changing experience indeed and I’d like to end my speech with a rule of my own, If we don’t expose ourselves to life and all its grieves and joys, how else can we be human ?

  7. Jazu Says:

I agree, it is worth the journey but only if that person truly is your soul-mate. I believe in soul-mates and that deep connection you gain (whether they are of the same gender or not). However, my question remains: what if the hardship you endure and the time spent is all for naught. The idea of “not knowing” if this person can truly be trusted is scary. The world is filled with betrayal, hurt and revenge and for teenagers and young adults to be exposed to this from such an early age feels like all hope is lost. I believe in patience and that everything will come in its time but when do we know if the time has come? Is it a feeling? Or do we jump blindly and hope for the best?

Life is about making mistakes, learning from these mistakes and seeking forgiveness. Thus it seems inevitable that we must endure the pain that comes with it. An emotion I would personally be glad to be rid of.

“That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”
    - Friedrich Nietzsche

  8. Bader Bader Says:

Jazu, if you didn’t use this quote, I would have.
It is simple, the journey doesn’t depend on whom you’re taking it with, it is the journey that will uncover the truth about that companion. I know it is hard to put your trust in a person and sadly discover that this person is not worth what you have ventured but if we don’t make mistakes, we will never learn to avoid them in future. The wise is not he who makes no mistakes, but the one who never repeats them. To sum it up, I say we will not know if this friend is worth the title of a soul mate, but I am sure that the journey if not worth making him/her a soul mate it is worthy of knowing if they deserve it or not. It is a loss for humanity, for you and our youth to lose faith and trust in people, there are good friends and potential soul mates a plenty in this world , all we have to do is let our hearts see what our eyes can never witness.

  9. Jazu Says:

And a person willing to open their heart must accept the idea that they might get hurt, that is simply my point.

A person embarking on the search for their soul-mate should realize it is not an easy journey.

However, once the soul-mate is found, the happiness you feel is indescribable! :-)

  10. Bader Bader Says:

You are absolutely right, and that is what relations are all about.
Thank you for enriching my article :-) .

It’s so true & witha lovely vision of how friends should be. In fact, its friends that make life much easier and they let days go forward. I can’t imagine life how it would be without those i call friends.

However, this is not always true.. and friends are not always there!

p.s : Bader this line confused me alot , betrayal is always set to be a harming act… for we lose those who we believed r friends… and that hurts !
” Betrayal is never a harmless act, but to me, losing a traitor is like gaining a friend”

    Greetings for all .
